MÜSİAD International Relations Committee’s Chairman Mr. ZEKi Güvercin, Müsiad Libya’s Representative Mr. Murtaza Karanfil and MÜSİAD CHAD’s representative Mr. Ahmet ÖZEN attended to the panel that was held at the African Coordination and Training Center (AKEM). How much can Turkey - Africa relations be strengthened? How do job opportunities in Africa develop and become permanent? Those have been the main topics discussed. MÜSİAD International Relations Committee’s Chairman Zeki Güvercin: “There is a trend that has been developing in Africa for a few years by now. Africa is an alternative foreign market for Turkey. If we head to Africa, we can fix our export problems. There are some headlines we come across in our work in Africa. What are the downsides and upsides of this market when the business people enter the market? What are the political risks? All of these require area analysis.” he said. Musiad Libya’s Representative Mr. Murtaza Karanfil “The most important source of success in a country is the partners you choose from the opposite side, especially in African countries. As such, you are more likely to progress and trade reliably. It is absolutely essential that people doing business abroad in Africa act according to the course of work there. There may be breaks in stability which creates imbalances in payments. Finally, if Libya is stable, there will be serious trade potential with both Sub-Saharan Africa and North Africa. Turkey’s pattern of development, in the last 10 years, has become a model for African countries. This should not be underestimated. We have a heartfelt bond with Africa, and high level cooperation should be developed with these countries." he said.
